I am a dentist who graduated from a foreign institution and I just obtained my ODQ permit after completing the equivalence and recognition process for my training. Are there specific rules for my situation?

Yes. You must pay your initiation fee and an equivalent amount as your annual membership fee. Once you have paid these amounts, you will become an active member until December 31 of the year in which you obtain your permit in Quebec. Furthermore, you will still be subject to the Rand formula if you provide dental care during that period and, where applicable, the Association will keep the deductions made by the RAMQ until it has received the annual membership fee for an active member. You enjoy all the benefits. You may participate in the bodies of the Association, which entitles you to vote, attend general meetings and submit your candidacy for an elected office. You receive all services that the ACDQ offers. You also receive The Contact Point, the communiqués and all other communications.
