What are my obligations with respect to my fees?

As a healthcare professional, your obligations are to:

• inform the patient in advance of the recommended treatment plan and the related costs and obtain his or her agreement.
• charge fair and reasonable fees, i.e. proportionate to the services provided.
• provide the patient, if he or she so desires, with a detailed statement and a receipt for all paid fees.

The patient’s obligation is to promptly pay the fees he or she has agreed to pay for the services that were provided to him or her.
