I am a patient. Can I obtain a copy of the Fee Guide?
The Fee Guide and Description of Dental Treatment Services is published every year by the Association des chirurgiens dentistes du Québec (ACDQ) for its members. It is a complex technical document (it contains around 800 interrelated codes). It was designed for dentists, who alone have the knowledge and expertise required to interpret it. While this guide is intended to help dentists set their fees, dentists are entirely free to set their own fees.
If you are a patient, it is not possible to have a copy. Legal deposits of the guide are available at the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec in Montreal and the National Library of Canada in Ottawa and can be consulted at those institutions.
If you have questions about the cost of a dental treatment, your dentist is always the best person to ask, because every case is different.
