What is the difference between the ACDQ and the ODQ?

The Association des chirurgiens dentistes du Québec (ACDQ) is the professional defending group of dentists and counts over 4 300 members. Its mission is to study, defend and develop their professional, economic, and social interests. It works to ensure that their expertise is recognized, provide them with training opportunities, and defend the value and importance of their services. For that reason, it negotiates all necessary agreements on their behalf. It also supports efforts to improve oral health in Quebec that make care more accessible and encourages research, social action and humanitarian activities.

As for the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (ODQ), it ensures the protection of the public. As stated on its website, "Its mission is to maintain quality dental services through adherence to high standards of practice and ethical conduct, and to promote oral health among Quebecers.”
