| Description | Description of the position: The CIUSSS West-Central Montreal is seeking an individual to serve as Chief of the Department of Dentistry, with demonstrated administrative and clinical expertise within a hospital based dental practice. This position will enable the candidate selected as Chief to use his/her leadership and management skills, dynamism and strong interpersonal skills to build on the JGH’s excellent reputation for clinical care, teaching and research. The presence of a significant team of five full time dentists and another fifty part time dentists who provide clinical supervision for the dental residents offers a strong base of support for success. The successful candidate will be responsible for: The Chief of the Department of Dentistry is responsible for overseeing all clinical activities within the CIUSSS including the delivery of outstanding clinical care. He/she must ensure there is appropriate professional staff scheduled for emergency dental care. The Chief of Dentistry is also responsible for the efficient management of the JGH dental clinic which includes oversight of the annual operating budget and clinic clerical and auxiliary support staff. The successful candidate is expected to have: Candidates must be bilingual, with more than 10 years of experience. The ideal candidate has demonstrated strong communication, listening and organizational skills, as well as a passion for excellence and creativity in problem-solving. He/she has a knowledge of hospital dental accreditation and curricula and is familiar with the McGill University health care network. Qualifications and education requirements: DMD or DDS degree, license to practice dentistry in Quebec. Job details: Job Type: Permanent. Term: 4 years, renewable. Rank: As per qualifications.
